Skills and Enterprise is dedicated to bridging the skills gap in the Borough of Halton and the wider Mersey Gateway region. We are the employer responsive department of Riverside College offering high quality training and education to a variety of businesses and individuals.
We offer work based training aimed at ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of local enterprise in a competitive marketplace.
We work in partnership with business, local authorities and agencies such as, Job Centre Plus and the Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise to ensure our training solutions meet the needs of business locally and nationally.
We focus on 4 key areas of expertise:
- Developing employability skills and retraining for those at risk of redundancy or out of work.
- Developing the skills and employability of young people through Apprenticeships
- Workforce development of existing employees through Apprenticeships for Adults and NVQs
- Offering a wide range of professional courses for employers and employees and bespoke training solutions for business.
Facilities
If you need to hold business meetings, launch a new product and/or carry out interviews we have spacious and well-equipped training and meeting rooms, available for hire at a very reasonable rate.
We also have conference facilities available including our 400 seat Centre Stage Theatre in Widnes. This is a well-equipped and versatile venue which can seat up to 400 people and recently hosted the much-publicised Mersey Infrastructure Debate.
We can also provide excellent catering and refreshments at very competitive prices for all meetings and conferences. This is provided by our catering students who you will be supporting by giving them the opportunity to develop their catering and front of house skills, supported by their excellent and professional chef-lecturers.
